Jeffrey D. Green
Jeffrey D. Green is a Professor of Psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University. He received his BA from Dartmouth College and his Ph.D. from UNC Chapel Hill. His research revolves around the self, relationships, emotions and virtues, and meaning in life. He has published work on affective states such as sadness, anger, envy, and guilt; a primary focus currently is on the causes and consequences of feeling nostalgic. He also studies close relationships processes. He also researches human-animal interactions. He has empirically examined various types of virtuous behavior, including gratitude, self-control, and humility, and how these processes enhanced felt meaning in life.
